Italian Inspired Micro Wedding in Charleston, SC

Micro weddings are such a beautiful and intimate way to celebrate a marriage. I am so happy to see them becoming more and more popular and be a part of them! Enjoy this 1940s Italian inspired micro wedding shoot that took place in Charleston, SC.

River Oaks Charleston Micro Wedding

When Lacy and I began talking about the feel of this wedding we both loved the idea of simple, understated, timeless, and oh so very romantic. River Oaks, just outside of Charleston, SC, is the absolute perfect venue to be transported to a different place and time. With its beautifully secluded yard with only the waterway flowing behind it. It lends itself to creating so much effortless ambience. Marianne always makes sure every detail is thought through and staged just right. Micro weddings at River Oaks are going to be the ‘it’ Charleston wedding, I can feel it!

Wedding Details

For the wedding details – Lacy drew her inspiration for the florals from lilies of the valley and european walkways lined with flowers. She envisioned all whites florals with greenery lining the aisle for the ceremony site, and Margaret Kelly Designs brought that vision to life. The bouquet was an understated bouquet that was absolutely in line with the romance of the vision. It’s petiteness was perfect.

The Tenacious Tart made individual cakes for everyone in attendance for the day. Again, more petite details to fit the style of the day. They were tiny little works of art! Plume Calligraphy created an amazingly detailed stationary suite. The colors were a perfect compliment to the day. The suite had such delicate detailed florals letter pressed in to it.

Italian Inspired Ceremony and Reception

Ooh! Events provided everything for the ceremony and reception table. A beautiful simple floral patterned on the side of the plates was so complimentary and stunning for the settings. In true Italian tradition, we went with simple elegance. Mostly white and a lot of green with little touches of natural gold. The textures are what makes it so romantic and luxurious. A micro wedding allows the couple to have exactly what they want for their day and their celebration. Even if things maybe cost more than anticipated, micro weddings allow for so much more room financially to makes sure your dream flowers, dress, table look beyond what you could have dreamed!

G + S a 1940’s look

Wild Ivory Beauty provided Shelby with perfect, timeless, romantic makeup and hair that complimented the style and theme so so very well. Plume Calligraphy created a suite that took us back in time and was so delicious to photograph.

Shelby and Gibrelle were amazing. From beginning to end. They were a complete delight to be around and every single one of us vendors felt as though we were spending the day with our dear friends. Their appreciation for life, love, people is in everything they do.

The beauty of a Charleston, SC micro wedding.

The entire day had so much beauty. It was filled with joy, laughter and new friendships. It was an honor to be a part of it and create inspiration for others to enjoy!
