Malibu beach shoot at El Matador State Beach

El Matador Beach

It was a cold and rainy day in December, but we powered through it! At the last minute we moved our shoot from Laguna Beach up to El Matador State Beach. Anyone that knows California and it’s coast – that is not a short drive! But it was so so worth it!!!

The morning started off as a beautiful sunny California morning. The slowly started changing to lots and lots of rain showers headed straight for our shoot site. So we drove three and a half hours north to try and get above where the rains would be. We arrived at the beach with only about 40 minutes to shoot. It was so cold and rainy, but Erin was amazing! She was all about wading in the water, even when the waves became massive and absolutely soaked her! She was so beautiful and so graceful. I loved the bare feet in the sand. To me when I look at her in these photos I get the feeling of romance and wonder what or who she is pondering on while she looks out the the ocean.

The florals were beyond amazing. I asked each florist to create something that they envisioned from the color palette of one being all pinks and the other being all yellows. The reason why I love photography so much – I get to freeze those delicious florals in time and always look back at them and remember just how incredibly gorgeous they were!
