Fine Art In The Rugged Rocky Mountains

Shooting with a relaxed soul and a clear mind is such a fulfilling place to be, and photographing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado definitely took me there! I feel so relaxed in nature. I’m inspired by what I see around me, and it takes my creativity to another level.

Ansel Adams said that “A good photograph is knowing where to stand,” and that was definitely true for this shoot.

Wild Basin Lodge provided such an epic setting surrounded by mountains, trees, and rivers. Whether it was a massive mountain or the smallest detail in the dress, everywhere I turned there was beauty, and it was such a joy to capture all of of it on film! I loved the combination of the fine art details in this rugged landscape. Going from highlighting a small detail on the dress to stepping back to capture an epic landscape was so much fun. Both were beautiful and simple in their own way, and I loved how this combination came through on film!

The dress for this shoot by Designer Rara Avis was absolutely amazing! It fit so well with this setting, and I am in love with all the amazing details including the clay flowers sewn into it!!! How amazing is that??? The headpiece was so cool and has officially been named “The Mulder!” Thanks Eden Luxe Bridal!!

I love the art that I was able to create with this team in this incredible setting, and I am so honored that this shoot was featured in Wedding Sparrow! Click over to see their feature!
