A Lake Como Proposal

Lake Como marriage proposals are always amazing. And this one was perhaps an all time favorite. There are certain love stories that should be frozen in time for everyone to see. Alex and Morgan have that relationship. When Alex first reached out to inquire about photographs for his proposal to Morgan, I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it. Much like one internally knows your spouse is the one for you, that is how I feel with certain couples. I KNEW I was going to love working with Alex and his future fiancee he couldn’t help but to gush about.

Creating a Surprise Proposal

He had put so much time and thought in to how he was going to surprise her. During our first phone call he said he had come up with the idea of telling her he had booked them a private cooking class. This said cooking class came with a photographer to capture the experience. As a pasta lover, this was going to be easy to talk about!

The day of the proposal finally arrived. We met at a cafe in Bellagio to discuss their ‘private cooking class.’ I pulled out my notes to make a list of what they would like to learn to make. I could talk for hours about pasta making and sauces. And I did talk a lot about them! So much so that when Morgan stepped inside to freshen up before leaving to go ‘grocery shopping’ for our ingredients for the day, Alex looked at me and laughingly said ‘You’re good! I’m hungry now!’

We wandered down the block to take some photos on my favorite Bellagio stairway. Then we wandered over lake side to the spot we picked for the proposal to happen. Right along the lake with the town of Bellagio in the background. I asked Morgan if I could get a little creative with some of the posing, she agreed. I asked her to turn and face the town and to stay facing that way while I focused on Alex in the foreground and then we would switch.

The Excitement of the Proposal

Alex’s face was priceless. His excitement and nervousness was just overflowing from him. I told Morgan she could turn around, and Alex dropped to his knee with the ring stretched out to her. She  was in completely disbelief and the smile I thought was so natural and big already, stretched even further. Both were so overjoyed and could not contain that joy. It was magical and beautiful to watch and be a part of.

Lake Como Boat Ride

Next up was the surprise of a boat ride for their engagement photos. We met back together in the afternoon in Como and ventured out for an hour and a half on the lake. These two made my job so easy. Relax, enjoy each other and Lake Como, be in love, forget that I am here. Done done done and done.

Congratulations Alex and Morgan! What a beautiful life these two will have together.
