Sheep, Spanish moss, and a beautiful group of vendors. This luxury shoot at Middleton Place wedding in Charleston was such a wonderful experience. I knew this shoot needed to be all of the bygone luxe. The style that is such a huge piece of my heart. There are few places in the US that hold that timeless feeling that brides and grooms are drawn to. Charleston is absolutely one of those places. What I love and strive for in my brand, is bygone luxe. That classic, timeless, regal look that has so much depth and meaning. The story of a wedding day is so beautiful to tell, and my style tells this story so well.

Every person that helped me with this shoot went above and beyond. It was such an inspiring thing to feel and be a part of. Every. Single. Vendor. is a true artist!! I am so madly in love with this Charleston wedding at Middleton Place, and I hope you are too!

Anne Barge provided the most exquisite dresses and a collar that I will forever be in love with. Each dress was so unique and the very definition of luxury. The cape looked like royalty, and the feathers gave such beautiful texture and were so inspiring. It is one of those times I really wish I was the one wearing the dress instead of photographing! Tout Models provided the beautiful faces of the shoot, and they were 100% spot on with the vision.

Katie Gurley. I need to write a book. When it comes to hair and makeup artistry, she is my new go to gal. She makes looks that are so diverse and look so effortlessly glamourous. She can see a face and a dress and know exactly what look is 100% perfection.

A Southern Bride’s wedding Portraits

Wedding Florals and Reception Table

Autumn of Isibeal Studio made all of my floral dreams come true. And then some. I feel like somehow she just knew what I had been longing to see and created amazing works of art. The consistency and level of what she designed is unparalleled. She is truly a floral artist. I am also now one of Ooh! Events biggest fans. They stepped in and created and styled a full reception table that was so iconic for the setting of the Charleston wedding at Middleton Place. They provided a hand painted backdrop, cake table and vintage chairs and sofa to take this shoot to the next level. Eden Luxe Bridal and Bella Belle Shoes were so generous and provided so many things to perfectly create this luxurious look. I know black shoes may not be for every bride – but after looking at these photos, I promise you will want to reconsider!

Sweet Rhi (who really is super sweet!!) provided an incredibly beautiful creation of her own. Sometimes a cake just looks too good to cut in to! (then I smell all of that deliciousness, then I am okay with diving in) The Lovli Collection made custom hand dyed linens for us. They were SO gorgeous, I had to also use them as the backdrop to the flat lays! And they smelled like heaven.

Tears actually came to my eyes when I saw what Ashley of Floraison Design Co created for this shoot. Her hand drawn details were complete perfection. They screamed bygone luxe. She hand drew the most amazing envelope liner I have ever seen. Her attention to detail is unmatched. I loved feeling the invitations too! The hand painted details were absolutely beyond perfection. They were absolute perfection for this Charleston wedding at Middleton Place as they fit the feel of the venue and design so perfectly!

A special thanks to my friend Franzi who stepped in to help carry things all over the gardens, set things up, tear things down, go on a pizza run for us! 🙂 Last, and absolutely not least, Middleton Place. Middleton Place has always held a special place in my heart. We ventured there years ago and I fell in love with their perfectly maintained beautiful grounds. The grounds are one of the biggest draws for visitors. What has always stayed with me though, is the museum that has been created throughout. It shares the history of the realities that happened. They do not glamorize the history. Service and education are at the forefront. Middleton has created a way of not preserving the land in its history, but repurposing it to teach history and help new and beautiful memories be made.

From Middleton Place

Middleton Place Foundation is a 501c-3, non-profit educational trust, and it has been since its creation in 1974. Each couple that chooses Middleton Place as their wedding venue agrees to be a donor on the benefactor level, which means they support the Foundation’s educational mission financially. Whether visitors come here with an intent to learn, or engaged couples are looking for a site to be married, everyone is offered the same history lesson. We take our obligation to educate seriously, and we understand that Middleton Place may not be a good fit for all couples, or all vendors. But those who choose to have their wedding at Middleton Place help support our mission.

Middleton Place Foundation mission statement: Middleton Place Foundation, a public, non-profit educational trust, is responsible for the effective operation and preservation of Middleton Place National Historic Landmark and of the Edmondston-Alston House.
