This trip to France was such a great time of growth for me personally, as a photographer, and as an artist. Going to new places and experiencing new things fills me up and pushes me to heights. As Thomas Merton said, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
I took a big step forward as a photographer and as an artist during my time in France. I instantly fell in love with the light, the buildings, the people, the culture, the architecture, and the color palate. I connected with all of it in a profound way. It pushed me to a new place within myself that helped me better understand what type of art I wanted to create, and it propelled me forward down the path of really finding my unique artistic voice.
My encouragement to my fellow photographers and artists is to keep growing. Keep refining and pushing yourself to find that place of clarity and fulfillment in your art. Operating in that space is when you will most enjoy what you are doing and also when you will be at your best.
This elopement shoot was such a dream! Impeccably styled, sophisticated, seductive, and full of elegant beauty, it was so fun and so fulfilling to capture these images on film. I can’t wait until my next trip to France where I can take in all that this beautiful country has to offer and create more amazing art!
